Almond harvesting, a belt-ing and sweeping success

Almond harvesting in Australia typically occurs from February to April and involves shaking, sweeping, and harvesting. To successfully shake almonds off the tree without causing damage, the shaker machines need to be well-maintained, and Motion recommends using heavy-duty Gates v-belts.

Once shaken, almonds dry in the sun for 4-10 days before being swept and prepared for pick-up using sweepers that also use Gates v-belts. The sweeping and lining up of almonds is crucial for the harvesting machine to do its job.
