When a local natural gas processing and storage site began experiencing V-belt failures on their Triethylene Glycol (TEG) Dehydration unit pumps, Rob Michaelson stepped in to help. As National Product Manager for Belts at Motion Australia, he was able to run the existing parameters through the Gates Design Flex® Pro™ Software, and identified that the failure was due to incorrect sizing for the pulley arrangement.
“I recommended the Gates Quad-Power 4 belts as a replacement, because they are ideal for high heat applications with pulleys that are too small for standard V-belts,” says Rob. “Their ability to save space with a compact design and service-free maintenance requirements allow operations to increase efficiency by up to three per cent– making them a true high-performance belting solution.”
