Despite the importance of shaker screens in quarry operations, they often experience breakdowns and short service life. According to Michael Greelish, National Account Manager for Mining, Quarrying and Resources at Motion Australia, this is largely related to the quality of the bearings.
“The problem is not with the screens themselves; it is with component failure. The internal componentry experiences extreme levels of fatigue and rapid wear down under the stress of constant circular, linear, and elliptical forces against abrasive materials,” he continues.
