During the manufacturing process, paper is fed through a vacuum and pressing stages of the machine, before being dried to remove any excess moisture. This controlled heat transfer effect also serves to bond the paper’s fibres together, using large cylinder-shaped rollers.
The bearings on these rollers need to be resistant to the high temperature variations within the machine, to avoid inner ring cracking and hoop stress.
