While many food manufacturing plants used to use gland packing seals on large rotary cookers, this method often proved unreliable and not as clean, says Garry Noble, Technical Services Manager at Sealing Solutions.
As Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and hygiene expectations have progressed for the industry, mechanical seals have become a favoured alternative. Servicing a key customer to address these issues, the business has developed a purpose-built Rotary Cooker Seal design, featuring safety elements for installation and change-outs in hard to reach locations.
“Over time, I have developed a close relationship with this customer, aiming to make their sealing-related processes a lot smoother,” says Garry. “They are extremely satisfied with the product and service, as it has provided safety benefits to their team as well as more uptime on production.”
